How are RBC Local Hockey Leaders selected?
A panel of judges will choose one RBC Local Hockey Leader from
each of Hockey Canada's 13 regions. The winners will be selected
on the following criteria:
-
Proven dedication to community through hockey
-
Positive impact on hockey and hockey players in their community
-
Dependability, enthusiasm and leadership
-
Impact additional funding for a hockey cause may have in their community
-
Acting as a role model to others
-
High levels of commitment and support to partners, and co-workers
For more information on the selection process, please see the rules
and regulations section on the website.
How much funding will each of the 13 regional RBC Local Hockey Leaders receive?
Each regional winner will receive
$10,000 from RBC to support a local hockey cause in his or her
community.
Can I nominate more than one person for consideration of an RBC Local Hockey
Leader?
You may nominate as many RBC Local Hockey Leaders as you like.
If more people nominate the same RBC Local Hockey Leader, does that give
him/her an advantage?
Each nomination we receive for
each RBC Local Hockey Leader program nominee will be taken into
consideration. However, the emphasis will be placed on the quality
and content of each nomination. In cases where individuals are
nominated by multiple submissions, one representative submission
will be chosen to represent the candidacy.
Can we resubmit an essay we entered into last year's RBC Local Hockey Leader
contest?
Yes, you may submit an updated version of your entry from last
year. We welcome all entries.
If my nominee was a regional or national winner last year, can I nominate them
again?
No, you cannot nominate a past
regional or national winner
of the RBC Local Hockey Leaders
program. However, if your nominee did not win, you may resubmit
an updated nomination for the same individual.
Can I nominate myself?
You may not nominate yourself. Someone else in your community must do so.
